Manchester modelling workshop

Thursday, 09 January, 2020 - 13:00 GMT

The University of the Arts London in collaboration with the University of Manchester and the John Rylands library are organising a free workshop as part of the Linked Conservation Data (LCD) project on the 9th of January 2020. The workshop will be on modelling conservation data with the purpose of sharing records across documentation systems in conservation and beyond the profession. The workshop will begin with a lecture introducing the work of LCD on conservation thesauri and modelling. The principles of modelling conservation data with the CIDOC-CRM will then be described. In the second part of the workshop participants will examine sample conservation records and jointly describe them based on the principles introduced in the first part. Participants may be asked to bring own sample records to discuss at the workshop. The workshop will be led by Athanasios Velios.

While the workshop is free, numbers are limited. Please contact Laura Caradonna (laura.caradonna@manchester.ac.uk) or Brigitte Hart (b.m.hart@arts.ac.uk) to express interest by the 20th of December.
