We are pleased to announce that the Library and University Collections of the University of Edinburgh is now hosting the Language of Bindings Thesaurus. The University has a strong tradition in the study of the history of the book and constitutes an excellent home for the research around LoB. The new address for the thesaurus is:
Having secured the new home for the thesaurus we can now resume its development. In the foreseeable future we are aiming to publish several drawings of basic bookbinding types as well as begin to develop a hierarchy for partitive relationships across concepts. We will now also be able to publish the work that several translation groups have been undertaking.
We are still seeking a host for the Linked Data version of the thesaurus. We welcome communication from organisations that are willing to host the Linked Data version of the thesaurus and are already maintaining a triple store.
The existing URIs for the thesaurus will continue to be functional. Requests for the HTML version of the thesaurus concepts will be redirected to https://lob.is.ed.ac.uk/ while requests for the RDF versions will be redirected to the current address http://data.ligatus.org.uk/ .
We would like to thank Christine Megowan for her continuous support of the thesaurus as well as Scott Renton from the Digital Library Development team at Edinburgh who made the transition possible for the thesaurus.
