Manchester modelling workshop

Workshop participants at the John Rylands

On the 9th of January 2020, the University of the Arts London in collaboration with the University of Manchester and the John Rylands library organised a free workshop as part of the Linked Conservation Data (LCD) project. Led by Athanasios Velios, the workshop was on modelling conservation data with the purpose of sharing records across documentation systems in conservation and beyond the profession. The workshop began with a lecture introducing the work of LCD on conservation thesauri and modelling and the principles of modelling conservation data with the CIDOC-CRM were also described. In the second part of the workshop, participants were asked to examine sample conservation records and jointly describe them based on the principles introduced in the first part. Participants were asked to bring own sample records to discuss at the workshop.
